Prospero Teaching Australia is partnering with a welcoming independent P–12 faith-based school in Darwin to recruit a passionate and creative Art & Design Teacher specialising in Visual Arts. This permanent, full-time role begins in Term 1, 2026 and offers the chance to inspire students across both primary and secondary levels in a supportive, values-led environment.

Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and creative educator who will:
Deliver engaging Visual Arts programs across primary and secondary levels
Teach both studio-based practice and theory, supporting students with folio and portfolio development
Contribute to the creative life of the school through exhibitions, community projects, and extra-curricular arts initiatives
Inspire creativity, imagination, and self-expression in all students
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, assessments, and cross-curricular initiatives
This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys nurturing artistic talent, building strong relationships with students, and contributing meaningfully to a supportive school community.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, student-centred Visual Arts lessons across Years K–12
Develop curriculum-aligned units fostering technical skills, creativity, and critical thinking
Maintain a safe, resource-rich, and inspiring studio environment
Use school-based assessment data to inform differentiated teaching and targeted support
Participate in school exhibitions, arts events, and community engagement projects
Work collaboratively within the arts faculty and wider teaching team
Requirements
Qualified and registered teacher (or eligible for NT teacher registration)
Experience teaching Visual Arts at primary and/or secondary level
Strong practical and creative skills across a range of media and techniques
Ability to teach both practical and theoretical components confidently
Commitment to inclusive, student-centred, and culturally responsive teaching
Willingness to contribute to school life, extra-curricular programs, and the wider community
