Prospero Teaching is partnering with a specialist secondary school in South East Melbourne to urgently appoint a hands-on, industry-experienced Automotive Teacher. The role has arisen due to a staff change, presenting a rare opportunity to transition into teaching in a modern, purpose-built vocational environment. Permission to teach is welcome or candidates able to obtain it will be considered.

About the Automotive teaching role
Teach Senior students (Years 10–12) in hands-on automotive programs, combining practical workshop tasks with relevant theory
Support students’ personal growth, independence, and employability alongside technical skills
Collaborate with teaching staff and a departmental technician to deliver vocational pathways
Contribute to co-curricular and transition programs supporting students’ post-school readiness
Requirements
Industry experience in automotive or mechanical trades, or vocational teaching experience
Confidence delivering hands-on, practical teaching in a workshop environment
Commitment to inclusive education, supporting students with additional learning needs
Ability to differentiate instruction, scaffold learning, and focus on life-ready skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Permission to teach is welcome, or candidates able to obtain it
