Prospero Teaching are proud to be partnering with a vibrant, future‑focused NT government secondary college to appoint a dedicated Big Picture Learning (BPL) Advisor Teacher for a full‑time position commencing immediately. This is the only school in the Northern Territory with a working agricultural facility and a rapidly expanding Big Picture Learning program across Years 8–10, with plans for further growth.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of student‑centred, personalised education in the NT.
The Opportunity Join a highly collaborative and student‑driven BPL team where you will:
Serve as an Advisor to a small cohort of 12–16 students.
Guide students through individualised Learning Plans based on their passions.
Facilitate Learning Through Internships (LTIs) by connecting with community mentors.
Coach students through projects, exhibitions, and reflective learning.
Support students academically, socially, and personally.
Work closely with families, mentors, and colleagues.
Help shape and grow the school’s Big Picture Learning model.
This role is ideal for educators who value relationships, creativity, autonomy, and real‑world learning.
About You You are a passionate, flexible, and student‑centred educator who:
Holds relevant secondary teaching qualifications.
Is TRB NT registered (or eligible).
Has strong communication, organisation, and relationship‑building skills.
Thrives in a non‑traditional, personalised learning environment,
Is comfortable working with diverse learners and learning styles.
Can coach students across multiple domains (generalist mindset).
Brings creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to student success.
(Optional) Has experience with BPL, project‑based learning, or community engagement.
