BUSINESS & ECONOMICS TEACHER – VCE

Prospero Teaching is proud to be working in partnership with a Catholic secondary college for boys in Melbourne’s northeast. The College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Business & Economics Teacher to join its dedicated learning community from Term 3, 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator with experience or interest in senior Commerce subjects who is committed to academic excellence, boys’ education, and the holistic development of young men within a Catholic learning environment.
The successful teacher will deliver a combination of:
• VCE Business Management (Units 3 & 4)
• VCE Economics
• Business Studies / Commerce across secondary year levels as required
Business & Economics teacher key responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging and rigorous VCE Business Management and Economics programs
• Support students to achieve strong academic outcomes through evidence-based teaching practices
• Develop high-quality assessment and exam preparation strategies aligned with VCAA requirements
• Foster a positive, inclusive and academically focused classroom environment
• Contribute actively to the broader life of the College, including co-curricular opportunities
• Model and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school community
The successful Business & Economics teacher will:
• Hold a recognised secondary teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed or M.Teach)
• Be registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
• Demonstrate strong curriculum knowledge in VCE Business Management and/or Economics
• Have the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Be collaborative, organised and committed to ongoing professional learning
• Support the mission and vision of Catholic education and the holistic development of students
