This is a significant senior leadership opportunity for an experienced educational leader who is passionate about inclusive education, staff development, student wellbeing, and school improvement.

Working closely with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will play a key strategic role in fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and supportive school environment. The successful candidate will strengthen teaching and learning through instructional leadership, build staff capability, and ensure the effective delivery of key educational operations across the school.

The opportunity

The Deputy Principal will provide strategic and operational leadership across the school, with a particular focus on people, professional practice, teaching and learning, and organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Working alongside the Principal to implement the school's strategic priorities and improvement agenda
• Leading initiatives that strengthen teaching quality, student outcomes, and professional practice
• Developing staff capability through coaching, mentoring, professional learning, and targeted development
• Promoting a culture of reflection, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Supporting staff wellbeing and fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
• Providing instructional leadership that supports evidence-informed and contemporary teaching practices
• Building a strong professional community where staff are empowered to share expertise and learn from one another
• Overseeing key educational operations to ensure the effective organisation and delivery of teaching and learning programs
• Leading whole-school timetabling and staff rostering to ensure effective allocation of people and resources
• Coordinating and overseeing major school events, activities, and educational programs
• Providing leadership around risk assessment, compliance, and operational processes to ensure safe and successful educational experiences
• Working collaboratively with students, staff, families, and external stakeholders to strengthen the broader school community
• Deputising for the Principal and providing executive leadership as required

About you

The successful candidate will be an experienced and highly regarded educational leader who:

• Holds recognised teaching qualifications and appropriate NESA accreditation
• Demonstrates significant leadership experience within a school environment
• Has a strong understanding of inclusive and special education
• Has demonstrated success in developing staff capability and improving professional practice
• Is an accomplished instructional leader with a strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning
• Demonstrates the ability to translate strategic priorities into effective school-wide practice
• Has experience managing complex educational operations, including timetabling, rostering, events, and risk management
• Possesses exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Leads with integrity, empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement
• Has a genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of both students and staff
• Can inspire and empower others while maintaining high expectations and accountability
