Prospero Teaching Australia is partnering with a supportive and community‑minded secondary school in the Darwin region to recruit a dedicated Development Teacher for a late‑February start. This full‑time, permanent role is ideal for a primary‑trained educator who is passionate about helping students strengthen their foundational skills and achieve success across the curriculum.

The school is seeking a caring and skilled teacher who will:
Support Years 7–9 students who are currently working below age‑expected levels.
Deliver targeted literacy, numeracy, and general learning programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Use primary teaching expertise to scaffold learning and build core skills.
Develop and implement individualised learning plans based on student needs.
Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent and effective learning support.
Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and engagement.
Teach small groups and/or individual students using evidence‑based intervention strategies.
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that address learning gaps and build essential skills.
Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and adjust teaching accordingly.
Contribute to whole‑school wellbeing and learning support initiatives.
Participate in team meetings, collaborative planning, and professional learning.
Build strong, respectful relationships with students and the wider school community.
Primary teaching qualification and eligibility for NT teacher registration.
Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Strong understanding of differentiation, intervention approaches, and scaffolded instruction.
Ability to create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
