The Director of Learning and Growth: Pedagogy will provide strategic leadership in teaching and learning, supporting staff to deliver high-impact instructional practice and ensuring continuous improvement across the College.
This role will lead initiatives focused on:
Teaching and learning excellence
Evidence-based pedagogy
Staff professional growth
Instructional coaching
Curriculum development
Assessment and feedback practices
Collaborative learning culture
The successful candidate will play a key role in building teacher capacity and supporting a culture of reflection, innovation, and professional growth.
The successful applicant will:
Provide strategic leadership in pedagogy and teaching practice across the College
Develop and implement initiatives that improve student learning outcomes
Lead professional learning programs aligned with contemporary educational research
Support teachers through coaching, mentoring, and collaborative planning
Promote evidence-based instructional strategies and high-impact teaching practices
Work with leadership teams to develop and monitor teaching and learning priorities
Support curriculum planning, assessment practices, and quality improvement processes
Encourage a culture of inquiry, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Analyse student achievement data to inform teaching strategies and school improvement priorities
Build staff capability through professional conversations and targeted development opportunities

The successful candidate will:
Hold appropriate teaching qualifications and current VIT registration
Demonstrate proven experience in educational leadership and improving teaching practice
Have a strong understanding of evidence-based pedagogy and contemporary learning approaches
Possess experience leading professional learning, coaching, or mentoring programs
Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
Be passionate about developing teacher capability and improving student outcomes
Have experience using data and evidence to inform teaching and learning improvement
Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the College
Be collaborative, reflective, and committed to ongoing professional growth
Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school (or willingness to work towards this) is required.
