Prospero Teaching is partnering with a leading Melbourne primary school to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Diverse Learning Assistant. This is an opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative school culture focused on inclusive education and student wellbeing.
This position will make a significant contribution to a culture of learning and educational excellence. It is a term-time full-time role, supporting the learning needs of students in the Junior School and assisting teachers to deliver high-quality, inclusive programs.
Our Diverse Learning Assistants support students and staff by:
Assisting classroom teachers in the education of all students, with a focus on students with diverse learning needs
Supporting student and staff pastoral care
Participating in professional learning, formation and growth
Supporting co-curricular activities so students can engage beyond the classroom
Completing general administrative duties, including reporting and NCCD compliance
Maintaining duty of care and child safety responsibilities
Our Diverse Learning Assistants work constructively to ensure a positive, supportive, and professional culture is maintained in the classroom and across the school.
To be considered for this role, applicants should demonstrate:
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs or disabilities in a school setting
Familiarity with targeted intervention strategies and learning programs
Aptitude, experience or qualifications relevant to the position
Extensive experience working with children with disabilities through NDIS or NCCD funding is desirable
Appropriate qualifications, including:
Certificate III in Education Support
Certificate IV in Education Support
Diploma of Education Support
