Prospero Teaching is proud to be partnering with a respected secondary school in Melbourne’s north-east to recruit a passionate English & Humanities Teacher for an immediate start on a fixed-term replacement contract through to the end of the year.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to join a supportive school community and make a meaningful impact with students across the junior secondary years.
About the Role
The successful applicant will join the English and Humanities faculty and deliver engaging, student-focused lessons across:
- English Years 7–10
- Junior Humanities
The role would suit an experienced teacher, graduate teacher, or educator looking for a short-term opportunity within a supportive Melbourne school environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful English & Humanities Teacher will:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English and Humanities lessons
- Plan and implement high-quality learning experiences that support student growth
- Develop positive relationships with students and foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment
- Use effective assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and student outcomes
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a recognised secondary teaching qualification (B.Ed, M.Teach or equivalent)
- Be registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Have experience teaching English and/or Humanities at the secondary level
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Be passionate about student learning and engagement
- Be collaborative, organised and committed to professional growth
