Prospero Teaching is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded independent Christian school located in Melbourne’s growing western suburbs. This dynamic, values-led school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) alongside the Victorian Curriculum, with a strong focus on academic excellence, student wellbeing, and community connection.
We are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join the Secondary School faculty, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across Years 7 to 12. There may also be an opportunity to teach senior English, depending on experience.
The English teacher job:
Full-time English Teacher (Years 7–12)
Start: Term 3 or as soon as possible
Independent faith-based school, western Melbourne location
Teach across middle and senior years
Join a high-performing and collaborative English team
IB and/or VCE English experience valued
Key responsibilities of an English teacher:
Design and deliver lessons in line with the Victorian Curriculum and IB framework
Foster a love for literature, writing, and critical thinking
Support students of varying abilities through differentiated learning
Participate in school events, co-curricular programs, and pastoral care
Work as part of a committed team of educators who value holistic education
The ideal candidate for this English teaching role:
Holds a relevant teaching qualification (B.Ed., M.Teach, or equivalent)
VIT registered (or eligible)
English teaching experience at secondary level
Familiarity with IB or VCE English (desirable but not essential)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A values-led educator who enjoys being part of a supportive school community
