About the role

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary English Teacher to join one of our partner independent schools in South-West Sydney on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated English educator to join a supportive and growing school community committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing and values-based education. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English lessons across secondary year levels, develop students' literacy and communication skills, and inspire a genuine love of literature and learning.

The school is conveniently located in South-West Sydney and is easily accessible from surrounding suburbs including Liverpool, Fairfield, Hoxton Park and Casula.

English Teacher key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons across secondary year levels
• Plan and assess lessons in line with the NSW English curriculum
• Develop students' literacy, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills
• Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback
• Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families
• Contribute to faculty planning and the wider school community

What we're looking for

• Current NESA registration (Conditional, Provisional or Proficient)
• Relevant Secondary Teaching qualification
• Experience teaching English across secondary year levels
• Strong knowledge of the NSW English curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff
• Commitment to student wellbeing and positive learning outcomes
