About the Role
We are seeking a creative and empathetic Secondary English Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons while catering to the diverse needs of neurodiverse learners. In this role, you will:

  • Teach English across secondary year levels, including curriculum-aligned programs up to year 10. 

  • Integrate additional subjects where possible, providing a richer learning experience for students

  • Design lessons tailored to neurodiverse learners, including those with ASD, ADHD, or social-emotional challenges

  • Use positive behaviour support strategies to engage students and encourage growth

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Collaborate with specialist staff, support workers, and families to ensure holistic student support

  • Contribute to the broader school community and co-curricular programs

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience teaching Secondary English

  • Be patient, resilient, and empathetic in working with neurodiverse learners

  • Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and innovative teaching approaches

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families

  • Be collaborative, reflective, and committed to ongoing professional development

  • Be able to teach an additional subject alongside English (desirable but not essential)

Essential Requirements

  • Current VIT registration (or eligibility prior to commencement)

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education / English

  • Full working rights in Australia

  • Commitment to child safety and student wellbeing
