Prospero Teaching Australia is seeking a passionate and adaptable English and English and History Teacher to join a well-established, independent and community-centred school in Sydney.

This is a full-time permanent position commencing immediately teaching English. The role provides the opportunity to contribute to a structured learning environment that values academic growth, student wellbeing, and positive classroom culture.

The role

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Year 7 --10 English
• Year 7 History
• Engaging, syllabus-aligned lessons
• Deliver structured instruction and differentiated learning for mixed-ability students
• Maintain high behavioural expectations and a positive classroom environment
• Support students’ understanding of historical concepts, inquiry skills, and critical thinking
• Contribute to faculty planning and collaborative teaching initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds relevant secondary teaching qualifications

• Is NESA accredited or eligible for accreditation

• Experienced in teaching English at the secondary level
  
  Demonstrates strong classroom management and explicit instructional practice

• Passionate about student learning, engagement, and development

• Strong communication and organisational skills
