Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a large and inclusive regional secondary college in East Gippsland to appoint a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher commencing April 2026.

About the Food technology teaching role:

As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Food Technology across Years 7–10

  • Potentially teach senior Food Studies (VCE) depending on experience

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons incorporating nutrition, food science, and practical cookery skills

  • Maintain safe food handling standards and effective kitchen management

  • Differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs

  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and innovation

  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives, extracurricular programs, and professional learning

What We’re Looking For

  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or eligibility)

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Food Technology, Food Studies, Home Economics, or Education

  • Sound knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum

  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

  • A collaborative and student-focused approach

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth
