An independent Islamic school in South-West Sydney is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of HSIE to lead their Humanities department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, values-driven school committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and professional growth.
We’re looking for a dynamic and dedicated leader who:
Brings strong curriculum knowledge across Stage 4–6 History and Geography
Has experience mentoring and guiding a team of teachers
Drives high-quality teaching and learning across the HSIE faculty
Uses data and evidence-based strategies to lift student achievement
Understands and values inclusive, culturally responsive education
Is committed to ongoing professional growth and collaborative leadership
To be considered for this role, you will have:
Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications in Humanities/HSIE
NESA accreditation (or eligibility to obtain)
Proven leadership experience in a school setting (e.g., Coordinator, Faculty Head)
A strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and differentiation
Full working rights in Australia
