This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Mathematics educator with strong senior secondary teaching experience who is ready to take the next step into faculty leadership, or an established leader looking to join a supportive Christian school community.
The opportunity
As Head of Department - Mathematics, you will provide leadership across the Mathematics department while continuing to contribute to classroom teaching, particularly at the senior secondary level.
You will:
- Lead and develop the Mathematics department, promoting excellence in teaching and learning
- Teach Mathematics across secondary year levels, with a strong focus on senior secondary
- Support the delivery of high-quality HSC Mathematics programs
- Lead curriculum planning, assessment and continuous improvement
- Mentor and support Mathematics staff through professional development and collaboration
- Monitor student achievement and use data to drive improved outcomes
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing department culture
- Ensure curriculum delivery aligns with NESA requirements
- Encourage innovative and evidence-informed teaching practices
- Contribute to the wider academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the school
- Support the integration of Christian values into teaching, learning and student development
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Is a practising Christian with a genuine commitment to Christian education
- Holds a relevant Mathematics teaching qualification
- Holds current NESA accreditation
- Has strong experience teaching senior secondary Mathematics
- Has a sound understanding of HSC Mathematics and NESA requirements
- Has previous leadership or faculty coordination experience ideally, although experienced senior Mathematics teachers ready to step into leadership will also be considered
- Demonstrates strong classroom practice and a commitment to student achievement
- Has excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Can mentor, inspire and develop colleagues
- Is committed to the academic, personal, spiritual and wellbeing development of students
