The opportunity

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a passionate Science educator to lead a dedicated faculty and drive excellence in teaching and learning across the department.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage the Science Faculty across Years 7-12
• Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Support and mentor Science teachers to deliver outstanding educational outcomes
• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and program development
• Teach Science classes, including Stage 6 subjects within your area of expertise
• Monitor student achievement data and implement strategies to improve outcomes
• Ensure effective management of laboratories, resources, and safety procedures
• Promote student engagement in Science through innovative teaching practices and enrichment opportunities
• Work collaboratively with school leaders to support whole-school improvement initiatives

About you

You are a dynamic educational leader who:

• Holds recognised secondary teaching qualifications
• Is NESA accredited (or eligible for accreditation)
• Has experience teaching Science at the secondary level, including Stage 6
• Demonstrates proven leadership experience or the capacity to step into a faculty leadership role
• Possesses strong curriculum knowledge and a commitment to academic excellence
• Has excellent communication, organisational, and people-management skills
• Is passionate about mentoring staff and developing high-performing teams
• Builds positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Thrives in a collaborative, values-driven environment
