Prospero Teaching is partnering with a highly regarded independent school to appoint an exceptional Head of Kindergarten / Educational Leader within a well-established Junior School setting.
This is a rare leadership opportunity for an experienced early years educator to lead a critical entry point into the school, shaping the educational journey of young learners and their families within a values-driven and high-performing environment.
As Head of Kindergarten / Educational Leader, you will lead the Kindergarten program, overseeing teaching and learning, pastoral care, and the day-to-day operations of the setting. You will play a key role in fostering a nurturing and high-performing early learning environment, grounded in a strong commitment to holistic education and the care of each individual student.
Working closely with the Junior School leadership team, you will contribute to strategic direction and ensure a cohesive, aspirational culture across the early years.
• Lead and develop a high-quality Kindergarten educational program
• Oversee the transition and engagement of students and families into the school
• Provide leadership in early years pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment
• Support and mentor staff to deliver excellence in teaching and learning
• Drive student wellbeing and pastoral care initiatives
• Manage aspects of administration and operational requirements of the Kindergarten
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain a positive and inclusive culture
• Uphold and promote child safety and wellbeing at all times
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
• Proven leadership experience in early childhood or primary education
• A strong understanding of values-based education (experience in faith-based settings advantageous)
• Deep knowledge of early years learning and development
• Excellence in staff leadership, collaboration, and communication
• Experience in fostering positive partnerships with families
• Capacity to contribute to whole-school strategy and culture
• Relevant teaching qualifications and current registration
