The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate educator and skilled communicator to lead and further develop a highly regarded Oratory and Public Speaking program.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the strategic direction and delivery of the school's Oratory Program
- Coach and mentor students in public speaking, debating, presentations, and competitive speaking events
- Develop students' confidence, persuasive communication skills, and leadership capabilities
- Prepare students for internal and external public speaking competitions
- Coordinate major oratory events, competitions, showcases, and assemblies
- Work collaboratively with academic and co-curricular staff to promote excellence in communication across the school
- Identify and support students with exceptional talent in public speaking and debate
- Foster a culture of articulate expression, critical thinking, and respectful discourse
- Contribute to the broader co-curricular life of the school
About you
You are an inspiring educator and communicator who:
- Holds recognised teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation (or eligibility)
- Has experience in public speaking, debating, English, Drama, communication studies, or a related discipline
- Demonstrates outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Has experience coaching and mentoring students in public speaking and debating
- Is passionate about developing confident and articulate young people
- Possesses excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Can build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Thrives in a collaborative and high-performing environment
