Prospero Teaching is partnering with an Islamic co-educational K–12 school in Sydney's south-west to recruit an experienced Human Resources Specialist for an immediate-start, three-month casual contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional with previous experience in an independent school environment who can confidently step into a busy operational role and make an immediate impact.
Reporting to the College leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and school policies.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced education environment and has exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
Manage end-to-end recruitment, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding.
Conduct pre-employment reference checks and coordinate compliance documentation.
Prepare employment contracts, letters of offer and onboarding documentation.
Provide advice on employment legislation and industrial awards.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
Coordinate staff inductions, probation reviews and onboarding processes.
Support performance reviews, professional development and staff appraisal processes.
Draft and maintain HR policies, procedures and employment documentation.
Assist with employee relations matters, investigations and workplace issues.
Coordinate Workers Compensation and Return to Work processes.
Liaise with school leaders regarding staffing, compliance and HR initiatives.
Prepare HR reports and maintain confidentiality across all employee matters.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience working in Human Resources within an independent school or education setting (essential).
Demonstrated experience drafting employment contracts and managing HR administration.
Strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
Experience interpreting the Educational Services (Schools) General Staff Award (highly regarded).
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
A current NSW Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days).
Immediate start with an established and respected independent K–12 college.
Competitive hourly rate of $45–$65 per hour.
