Prospero Teaching is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded independent school in Brisbane to appoint an experienced and dedicated Humanities Teacher for a Semester 2, 2026 contract, commencing Monday 20 July 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

  • Teach Humanities across Years 7–9
  • Deliver engaging, rigorous, and inquiry-based learning experiences

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

About You
You are a passionate Humanities educator who:
  • Holds relevant secondary teaching qualifications
  • Possesses current QCT registration (essential due to the immediate commencement)
  • Has demonstrated experience teaching Humanities across Years 7–9
  • Brings strong curriculum knowledge and a proven ability to support high-performing students
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Is an effective communicator with strong relationship-building abilities
  • Thrives in a collaborative and academically focused school environment
Highly Desirable Experience
  • Experience teaching within an independent school setting
  • Experience working in an all-girls educational environment
  • Ability to teach Year 9 Big History
Candidates with Big History experience will be highly regarded, particularly those who can support students in exploring:
  • Historical inquiry and investigation
  • Evidence and interpretation
  • Chronology and historical perspectives
  • Cause and effect
  • Change and continuity over time
  • Connections between societies, events, and cultures across history
