The opportunity
Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, school leadership, families, and external professionals, you will play an important role in supporting students with additional learning needs across the school.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide targeted learning support to students with diverse and additional learning needs
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and appropriate adjustments
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and teaching practices
- Deliver individual and small-group intervention programs
- Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Monitor student progress and use assessment data to inform learning support strategies
- Assist with identifying students who may require additional intervention or support
- Liaise with parents, carers, teachers, specialists, and external professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation relating to student adjustments and learning needs
- Contribute to whole-school inclusive education and wellbeing initiatives
- Promote a positive learning environment where all students feel supported, included, and valued
About you
You are a compassionate and committed educator who:
- Holds recognised teaching qualifications
- Is NESA accredited or eligible for accreditation
- Has experience in Learning Support, Inclusive Education, Special Education, or a related area
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching practices
- Has experience supporting students with a range of learning needs and abilities
- Can develop and implement effective individualised learning strategies
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Works effectively within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment
- Is committed to achieving positive academic and wellbeing outcomes for students
- Is supportive of and able to contribute positively to the Islamic values and ethos of the school
