About the Role:
The College is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Learning Area Leader – Humanities to lead a team of dedicated teachers and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Humanities Learning Area.
This position involves working closely with the Teaching and Learning Executive, the Teaching and Learning Team, and classroom teachers to ensure high-quality curriculum delivery and engaging, inclusive learning experiences for students.
In line with the EREA Touchstone of a Liberating Education, the Learning Area Leader will foster critical thinking, creativity, and the pursuit of personal excellence across all Humanities disciplines.
An ability to teach VCE Politics will be considered an advantage.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience teaching Humanities at the secondary level
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a teaching team
Strong organisational and communication skills
Commitment to innovation and excellence in teaching and learning
Understanding of the Edmund Rice tradition and alignment with the school’s Catholic values
Ability to contribute positively to the broader life of the school
You Must
Hold current VIT registration (or be eligible prior to commencement)
Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Education and Humanities
Have full working rights in Australia
Be committed to child safety and inclusive education practices
Be available to commence January 2026
Provide two recent professional referees
