About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join the Secondary team commencing January 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Mathematics lessons that inspire students to develop strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to create meaningful learning experiences and support positive student outcomes.

This role would suit an educator who is committed to academic excellence, enjoys building strong relationships with students, and is passionate about helping learners develop confidence in Mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across secondary year levels.
• Develop learning programs that cater to a broad range of student abilities.
• Foster students' numeracy, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback.
• Differentiate learning to support individual student needs.
• Create a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Utilise contemporary teaching strategies and educational technologies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum programs.
• Promote high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional learning opportunities.

Essential Criteria

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration.
• Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
• Strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success.
• Capacity to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Desirable

• Experience teaching Mathematics across Years 7-12.
• Ability to teach senior Mathematics subjects.
• Experience working within an independent school setting.
• Experience supporting students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Strong data literacy and assessment practices.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.
