Prospero Teaching is partnering with a highly regarded independent school to appoint an exceptional Media Teacher for their Senior School. This is a fixed-term opportunity within a well-supported Arts Department, providing an engaging and collaborative environment for students from Year 9 to Year 12.
This role is ideal for a dynamic teacher with a passion for media, digital arts, and fostering creativity through contemporary practices in visual communication and animation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Media Teacher, you will:
- Teach Media (Units 1–2), Digital Animation, and Photography across Years 9–12.
- Support student engagement through creative, hands-on learning experiences.
- Lead a Tutor Group (Homeroom) and contribute to pastoral care.
- Have potential involvement in student-led Media co-curricular activities.
You will work within a well-supported Arts Department, with access to contemporary digital media tools and ongoing professional development, including Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Media, Digital Animation, and Photography.
- Integrate 3D animation and Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) into teaching programs where appropriate.
- Foster student creativity, collaboration, and technical skill development.
- Contribute to Tutor Group pastoral care.
- Support student-led co-curricular media initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Arts Department and wider school leadership to maintain a positive, inclusive learning culture.
- Uphold and promote child safety and wellbeing at all times.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications.
- Experience teaching Years 9–12, including Media subjects (Units 1–2).
- Skills in Digital Animation, Photography, and Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Ability to inspire and engage senior students in creative and technical media practices.
- Strong pastoral skills, including experience in Tutor Group or homeroom responsibilities.
- Collaborative approach to working with colleagues and contributing to whole-school initiatives.
- Passion for fostering student creativity and achievement.
