Salary: $100,000 – $125,000 + superannuation (dependent on experience and Montessori qualifications)
Prospero Teaching is partnering with a well-regarded independent Montessori school located in the vibrant harbourside suburb of Inner Sydney, seeking an experienced and qualified Montessori 6–9 Director to lead a well-established lower primary environment on a full-time permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Montessori educator who is deeply committed to authentic Montessori philosophy and experienced in guiding children through engaging, child-centred learning experiences that foster independence, confidence and curiosity.

The Role
As the Montessori 6–9 Director, you will:
• Lead a well-prepared Montessori 6–9 classroom environment
• Deliver authentic Montessori education aligned with the developmental needs of each child
• Foster a calm, engaging and inclusive learning environment
• Support students’ academic, emotional and social development
• Build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues
• Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to contribute positively to the wider school community
• Maintain high standards of classroom practice and Montessori pedagogy
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
• NESA-approved Primary Teaching qualifications
• Montessori 6–12 Diploma (essential)
• Experience working within a Montessori 6–9 environment
• Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A collaborative, reflective and professional approach
• NSW Working with Children Check or eligibility to obtain one
