Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate and experienced Literacy & Numeracy Teacher to deliver targeted intervention under the Middle Years Literacy and Numeracy Support (MYLNS) initiative at a large, well-resourced secondary college in the North Melbourne area.
This role is dedicated to supporting students who require additional literacy and numeracy support to successfully transition into senior pathways and future employment.
As the Literacy & Numeracy Intervention Teacher, you will:
Work directly with Year 10 students needing intensive support
Deliver small-group and 1:1 intervention using high-impact, evidence-based instructional strategies
Create tailored learning plans to address gaps in foundational literacy and numeracy
Use data and assessment tools to monitor progress and adjust instruction
Collaborate with teaching teams, wellbeing staff, and school leaders
Help build confidence, engagement, and essential skills for senior secondary success
VIT registration (Full or Provisional)
Strong background in literacy and/or numeracy support
Experience working with students who may be disengaged or require additional learning needs
Confidence in differentiated instruction and explicit teaching
Ability to build trust, rapport, and motivation with diverse learners
Commitment to evidence-based intervention and student growth
Supportive leadership with a strong improvement focus
Dedicated intervention time (not a full classroom teaching load)
Access to MYLNS professional learning and Department resources
