A welcoming secondary college in Melbourne’s west is seeking a Numeracy & Literacy Intervention Teacher for a 0.8 role. This position includes a Year 7 maths and literacy class, as well as targeted support for Years 7–9 in both numeracy and literacy.
The school serves a low-DMI community with a high proportion of refugee and newly arrived students, representing communities including Middle Eastern, Myanmar, African, and Vietnamese backgrounds. Over 80% of students speak a language other than English at home. Despite these challenges, the faculty is highly collaborative, advanced, and passionate about explicit, high-impact teaching strategies.

Confident teaching lower secondary numeracy and literacy
Experience with EAL, refugee, or high-needs learners (advantageous)
Passion for explicit instruction and high-impact teaching strategies

VIT registered (or in process)

Candidates must:
Hold a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching – Secondary)
Be eligible to work in Australia
Hold current VIT registration (or be eligible to obtain)
Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Provide two recent, child-related professional references
