Prospero Teaching Australia is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded independent faith-based secondary school in Sydney to recruit a passionate and dedicated female PDHPE & Sports Science Teacher to join their team from 20 July 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and well-resourced learning environment where student wellbeing, academic achievement, and personal development are highly valued. The successful candidate will teach PDHPE across Years 7–12 and have the ability to deliver Sports Science courses at the senior secondary level.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting student health, wellbeing, physical activity, and performance education while fostering positive relationships and engagement across the school community.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching PDHPE across Years 7–12
Teaching Sports Science at the senior secondary level
Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
Supporting students' physical, social, emotional, and academic development
Encouraging participation in sport, fitness, and healthy lifestyle practices
Differentiating learning to meet the needs of diverse learners
Assessing and reporting on student progress
Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
Contributing to co-curricular sport and wider school activities where appropriate
You will be an enthusiastic and student-focused educator who is passionate about health education, physical activity, and sports performance.
You will have:
Relevant teaching qualifications in PDHPE, Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Sports Science, or Education
Current NESA accreditation or eligibility to teach in NSW
Experience teaching secondary PDHPE
Ability to teach Sports Science
Strong knowledge of the NSW curriculum
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
A commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development
A collaborative and professional approach to teaching
Both experienced teachers and strong graduate teachers are encouraged to apply.
