Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a Catholic co-educational secondary school in Melbourne’s western suburbs to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Health & Physical Education Teacher for January 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate PE teacher to join a welcoming school community where Health & Physical Education, student wellbeing and participation in sport are highly valued.
The successful teacher will deliver engaging HPE/PE programs across Years 7–10 while also having the opportunity to contribute to the school’s broader sporting and co-curricular program.
The school is a well-established Catholic co-educational secondary school committed to developing students academically, personally, socially and spiritually.
The school provides a broad secondary curriculum and places strong emphasis on student wellbeing, positive relationships, high expectations and participation in school life.
This provides opportunities for teachers with a passion for sport to contribute beyond the classroom through coaching, competitions and co-curricular activities.
The successful applicant will:
Teach Health & Physical Education across Years 7–12
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of diverse learners
Develop positive relationships with students
Support student wellbeing and engagement
Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
Work collaboratively within the HPE/PE faculty
Contribute to the broader sporting and co-curricular program
Support the Catholic ethos, values and community of the school
Participate positively in the wider life of the school
We are looking for a teacher who is:
Qualified to teach Health & Physical Education / Physical Education
Registered or eligible for registration with VIT
Experienced teaching secondary students, ideally Years 7–12
Confident with classroom management and student engagement
Passionate about sport, health and student wellbeing
Able to build strong and positive relationships with students
Collaborative and committed to working as part of a team
Willing to contribute to co-curricular sport
Comfortable working within a Catholic school environment
Passionate about helping students develop confidence, resilience and a positive approach to health and wellbeing
Teachers with additional sporting expertise, including basketball, rugby, AFL, athletics, fitness or other competitive sports, are encouraged to apply.
