Prospero Teaching is delighted to be partnering with an independent school in Melbourne’s east, seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join their team.
This is a school where learning looks different. It is a place where personalised teaching, strong relationships, and a calm, supportive environment empower neurodiverse students to re-engage and thrive.
The college caters for highly capable students from upper primary through to lower secondary who have found traditional classrooms challenging.
With small class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio, teachers can focus on what really matters, helping each learner build confidence, curiosity, and wellbeing.
Staff collaborate closely, ensuring every child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
As a Primary Teacher, you will:
Design and deliver tailored lessons that build on each student’s strengths
Use positive behaviour strategies to create a safe, encouraging classroom
Work alongside specialist staff, support workers, and families for holistic support
Contribute to a school culture where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to learn
We are looking for a teacher who:
Has experience in primary classrooms (special education experience is welcome but not essential)
Brings patience, empathy, and resilience to their practice
Can adapt and innovate to meet the needs of diverse learners
Builds strong connections with students, families, and colleagues
Values reflection, collaboration, and professional growth
Current VIT registration (or eligibility prior to commencement)
Tertiary qualifications in Primary Education
Full working rights in Australia
A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing
Small class sizes & high staff-to-student ratio
Supportive, collaborative team of educators
Professional development and mentoring in inclusive practices
Work with bright, capable neurodiverse students
Potential for contract extension into 2026
