About the Science / Mathematics Teaching Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science / Mathematics Teacher to join the school community in January 2027.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Science and Mathematics programs across secondary year levels. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring students, fostering curiosity, and helping young people develop strong analytical, scientific, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver engaging curriculum programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, while supporting students to achieve their academic potential within a Christian educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science and Mathematics lessons across secondary year levels.
- Develop curriculum programs that cater for a range of student abilities, learning needs, and interests.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support learning growth.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving.
- Integrate Christian values and a commitment to character development into teaching and relationships with students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and the wider school community.
- Participate in school activities, professional development, extracurricular programs, and the broader life of the school.
- Contribute positively to the school's Christian ethos and community.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) or eligibility for registration.
- Ability to teach Science and Mathematics at secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and assessment practices.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse student needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to creating a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Commitment to supporting the Christian ethos, values, and mission of the school.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience teaching Science and Mathematics across Years 7–12.
- Ability to teach senior secondary Science and/or Mathematics subjects.
- Experience contributing to extracurricular activities, enrichment programs, or school community initiatives.
- Experience working within a Christian or faith-based educational environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.
- A willingness to contribute to the pastoral care and broader community life of the school.
