About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join the school community from January 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality Science programs across secondary year levels, inspiring students to develop curiosity, critical thinking, analytical skills and a strong understanding of the world around them.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver engaging curriculum programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, while supporting students with a range of abilities and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across secondary year levels.
• Develop curriculum programs that cater to diverse student abilities and learning needs.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
• Assess and monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to encourage curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Differentiate learning to support individual student needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
• Participate in professional development, school activities and the wider school community.

Essential Criteria

• Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent qualification.
• Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration.
• Ability to teach Science at secondary level.
• Strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and assessment practices.
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse student needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to creating a supportive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Desirable

• Experience teaching Science across Years 7–12.
• Ability to teach senior secondary Science subjects.
• Experience contributing to extracurricular activities or enrichment programs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.
