Secondary Science Teacher – Western Sydney

Position: Full-time, Permanent
 
Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher who is able to teach years 11 and 12 Physics and Chemistry, to join a thriving Islamic faith school in Western Sydney. The school values diversity among its staff, with teachers from Fiji, Singapore, Ireland, the UK, Australia, and a range of faiths and backgrounds. Key Science teacher responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Science across secondary year groups
  • Experience in teaching Physics and Chemistry to years 11 and 12
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with teams of educators to maintain a positive classroom and school culture
  • Integrate educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes
 
Science teachers key skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated high pedagogical standards and effective communication with students
  • Ability to fulfil classroom responsibilities with professionalism, efficiency, and dedication
  • Experience or willingness to work with students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and faith backgrounds
  • Knowledge of child protection laws and ethical guidelines, including mandatory reporting
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification in Science
  • NESA accreditation and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in a secondary school setting (preferred)
  • Two professional references, including your most recent employer
