Prospero Teaching is excited to be partnering with a leading independent girls’ school in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs to recruit a passionate and skilled Science Teacher for a full-time, fixed-term position commencing in Term 1, 2025.

ABOUT THE ROLE – SCIENCE TEACHER (YEARS 7–9)
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Science educator to teach General Science across Years 7 to 9. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department and contribute to curriculum planning, assessment design, and student wellbeing initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching engaging and rigorous Science lessons for Years 7–9
Working closely with subject leaders and colleagues to plan and deliver units of work
Creating inclusive and differentiated learning environments that cater for a range of student abilities
Participating in the co-curricular life of the school, including camps and student wellbeing initiatives
Engaging in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice
This is a full-time, fixed-term position, suitable for experienced teachers or confident early-career educators with a strong foundation in junior secondary science.
To be considered, you will need:
Current VIT registration
Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications
Demonstrated experience or capability teaching Years 7–9 Science
Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogies and assessment practices
Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
A commitment to upholding the values and culture of an independent school
Additional certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement):
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
HLTAID009 – CPR
Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management
Mandatory Reporting (Child Safety training for independent schools)
