Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate and committed secondary teachers to join a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) in Western Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to work with young men (15 years and older) who have complex learning needs, disrupted education, and social-emotional challenges.

About the school

This SSP provides tailored programs in a safe and inclusive environment.
Students participate in:

  • Academic programs across secondary subjects

  • Vocational and trade programs: concreting, bricklaying, barbering, plumbing, hospitality

  • Practical learning spaces: trade training centre, horticulture areas, café, and music studio

  • Life-skills programs designed to address gaps in prior education

Supporting up to 90 students at a time, the school offers teachers the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ academic, vocational, and personal development.

About the role:

As a Secondary Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated programs to students with diverse learning needs

  • Apply evidence-based strategies for learners with complex needs, including social-emotional challenges

  • Collaborate with colleagues, welfare staff, and community partners to provide holistic support

  • Foster inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environments that encourage personal growth

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking teachers who:

  • Hold relevant secondary teaching qualifications (B.Ed., M.Teach)

  • Are registered or eligible for registration with the NESA

  • Have experience or strong interest in special education, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices

  • Are passionate about supporting students with complex learning and behavioural needs

  • Are committed to empowering students to achieve academic, vocational, and personal goals
