Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate and committed secondary teachers to join a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) in Western Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to work with young men (15 years and older) who have complex learning needs, disrupted education, and social-emotional challenges.
This SSP provides tailored programs in a safe and inclusive environment.
Students participate in:
Academic programs across secondary subjects
Vocational and trade programs: concreting, bricklaying, barbering, plumbing, hospitality
Practical learning spaces: trade training centre, horticulture areas, café, and music studio
Life-skills programs designed to address gaps in prior education
Supporting up to 90 students at a time, the school offers teachers the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ academic, vocational, and personal development.
As a Secondary Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging and differentiated programs to students with diverse learning needs
Apply evidence-based strategies for learners with complex needs, including social-emotional challenges
Collaborate with colleagues, welfare staff, and community partners to provide holistic support
Foster inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environments that encourage personal growth
We are seeking teachers who:
Hold relevant secondary teaching qualifications (B.Ed., M.Teach)
Are registered or eligible for registration with the NESA
Have experience or strong interest in special education, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices
Are passionate about supporting students with complex learning and behavioural needs
Are committed to empowering students to achieve academic, vocational, and personal goals
A supportive and dedicated team of educators and specialist staff
Opportunities to implement evidence-based teaching strategies and individualised learning plans
Collaboration with welfare and support personnel for holistic care
Hands-on programs and facilities to engage students and build real-world skills
