Contract type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term
Salary: dependant on experience but ranging between $100K–$130K
Prospero Teaching is proud to partner with a prestigious independent girls’ school seeking an experienced and inspiring Senior English Teacher for a full-time position in 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Years 7–12 English, including VCE English, within a collaborative, high-achieving faculty.

As a Senior English Teacher, you will:
Teach engaging and rigorous lessons across Years 7–12, including VCE English
Foster a love of literature, language, and critical thinking in students
Differentiate learning and use assessment data to support diverse needs
Contribute to curriculum development and faculty initiatives
Provide pastoral support and model the school’s values and high expectations
Engage in co-curricular and enrichment opportunities within the English department
You are a skilled educator who:
Has demonstrated experience teaching VCE English with excellent results
Maintains high standards in curriculum planning, pedagogy, and assessment
Inspires and motivates students with a passion for literature and communication
Builds positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and enthusiasm for girls’ education
Uses ICT effectively to enhance teaching and learning
Understands and complies with Child Safe Standards
Tertiary qualifications in English and Secondary Teaching
Current VIT registration
Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Proven track record of excellence in teaching English at VCE level
