Prospero Teaching is partnering with a highly regarded independent Islamic school in South-Western Sydney to recruit an experienced and dynamic Head of HSIE (Business/Commerce Focus) for a full-time permanent leadership position available for an immediate start.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished HSIE educator with expertise in Business Studies and Commerce to lead a growing faculty within a school known for its strong academic outcomes, supportive leadership team, and commitment to student success.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving academic excellence, supporting faculty staff, and further developing innovative teaching and learning programs that prepare students for success both during and beyond their school years.

About the role

• Lead and manage the HSIE Faculty across Years 7-12
• Teach Business Studies and Commerce, with the ability to teach other HSIE subjects viewed favourably
• Drive excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development
• Monitor student achievement data and implement strategies to improve outcomes
• Mentor and support HSIE faculty members through coaching and professional development
• Foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Develop engaging and differentiated learning experiences aligned with the NSW Curriculum
• Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic planning
• Participate actively in school events, professional learning, and leadership programs

Requirements

• Recognised secondary teaching qualification
• Current NESA accreditation
• Experience teaching Stage 6 Business Studies
• Demonstrated leadership experience or the capacity to step into a faculty leadership role
• Strong understanding of NSW Curriculum and HSC assessment requirements
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive academic improvement
• Commitment to supporting the school's Islamic values and ethos
