About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to join a highly supportive P–12 specialist school in Melbourne’s west. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and additional complex needs, in a setting designed for individualised, high-impact teaching.
You will work in small classes (6–7 students) with strong Education Support and access to allied health professionals, allowing you to focus on meaningful student development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualised learning programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Support development in communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Implement strategies for students with sensory and behavioural needs
- Embed literacy and numeracy into functional, real-life learning
- Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists
- Contribute to a positive behaviour support framework
- Support life skills, independence, and transition pathways
About You
- VIT registered (or eligible)
- Experience or strong interest in Special Education / Inclusive Education
- Skilled in differentiation and working with diverse or complex learners
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable, and student-centred
