The Role

We are looking for 9 Special Education Teachers to join the school across different year levels and learning environments.

Teachers will:

  • Develop and deliver individualised learning programs
  • Plan differentiated literacy and numeracy programs
  • Support communication and AAC strategies
  • Develop student independence and functional skills
  • Build positive relationships with students and families
  • Establish safe, structured and engaging classrooms
  • Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work collaboratively with Education Support staff
  • Collaborate with allied-health professionals
  • Contribute to Individual Learning Plans
  • Monitor and celebrate individual student progress
  • Support community participation and real-world learning

About You

We are looking for teachers who are:

  • Qualified and eligible for VIT registration
  • Passionate about Special Education
  • Patient, positive and relationship-focused
  • Confident differentiating learning
  • Comfortable working with students with complex needs
  • Collaborative and open to multidisciplinary practice
  • Committed to developing student independence
  • Flexible and willing to learn specialist teaching strategies

Specialist Education experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Mainstream teachers who are interested in transitioning into Special Education are encouraged to apply.
