Prospero teaching is partnering with a well-regarded secondary school in Mount Gambier, one of South Australia’s largest regional centres. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing and positive relationships, and is seeking a compassionate and skilled wellbeing leader to support middle years students and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or emerging leader who is passionate about adolescent wellbeing, pastoral care and whole-school culture.

Highlights of the role

  • Full-time, permanent leadership position focused on middle years wellbeing

  • Lead wellbeing initiatives, pastoral programs and case management for students in years 7–9

  • Work closely with year level teams, counsellors and the broader leadership group

  • Support the implementation of wellbeing frameworks, restorative practices and positive behaviour approaches

  • Contribute to whole-school culture, student engagement and community connection

  • Start term 1, 2026 (earlier start negotiable)

Essential skills and experience

  • Qualification in education with current or eligible South Australian teacher registration (TRB SA)

  • Demonstrated experience in wellbeing, pastoral care or middle years leadership

  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, trauma-informed practices and student support processes

  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, families and community partners

  • Confidence in leading staff, managing cases and implementing wellbeing frameworks

  • Excellent communication, empathy and organisational skills

Requirements to apply

  • Eligibility for South Australian teacher registration (TRB SA)

  • Full working rights in Australia

  • Valid working with children check

  • Recent professional references, including a leadership referee
